The Best Paint Correction Services in Houston

Paint Correction Is An Extensive Service

People are surprised when we tell them it can take 15+ hours to complete the vehicle. But it’s true. Paint correction is a very tedious process to achieve the proper end-result. It requires us to use multiple types of polishers, pads, compounds/polishes, and constantly checking our work in proper lighting to ensure we’re moving in the right direction.

This is especially true if you 1) have a larger vehicle, 2) a dark colored vehicle like black, 3) or a clear coat that’s hard to work with (either it can be too soft or too hard).

Before we schedule your vehicle, we’d like to perform a test spot on your vehicle so we can really dial in and see the level of work that’s needed to get you the results you want. Without testing, we can only guesstimate how long it’ll take, the results we can get, or how much it’ll cost.

Our shop is located just down the street from Willowbrook Mall and we would require you drop off the vehicle for one to two days (depending on how much work is needed).

Our Paint Correction Process

  • Phase 1: Prep The Vehicle

The first phase of the paint correction process it to make sure the paint is clear and clean of any contamination.

This is where we’ll clean the wheels, tires, and wheel wells, wash the vehicle, decontaminate the paint via an iron remover and clay bar treatment, and clean out all the cracks and crevices.

After this is done, the paint is “naked” and is ready for the next phase.

  • Phase 2: Correct and Polish

Now it’s time to do the most extensive part of the services; correct and polish all the painted surfaces. Depending on the size and condition of the vehicle, this can take anywhere between 8 to 16+ hours to complete.

During this time, we’ll continually inspect the paint, clean and change pads, and make a dramatic improvement in the paintwork.

  • Phase 3: Protect The Surfaces

Finally, we’ll apply the ceramic coating (or your choice of protection) to the paint, trim, and wheels. Based on how crazy Houston weather can get, the more protection, the better.

We’ll also apply a dressing to your tires, wheel wells, and any other necessary surfaces.

Dialed in.

Every part of the vehicle gets thoroughly cleaned and protected. The wheels, tires, and wheel wells were protected and dressed to wrap up the appearance and give it a nice “pop”.

Details Matter.

The end-product is all based on how well we prep the vehicle. We take extra time making sure we get all the little steps done right that way when we get into the correction and polishing, that can be our primary focus.

Paint Correction FAQs

How long does it take to complete?

It depends on the size, condition, and end-results you want to achieve. A sedan can take 15 hours where a truck can take 10 hours and achieve the same results. Every car will be different so it’s hard to say a definitive answer. For this level of service, we require you to drop off the vehicle at our shop location.

What’s the difference between the 1-step polish and 2-step paint correction?

The one-step polish is aimed to remove 80ish% of the imperfections in your paintwork. The 2-step paint correction is aimed to remove 90% or more of the imperfections.

Even though a 10% increase don’t seem like much, it’s that difference that takes a substantial more time to complete the service between the two.

What products do you use?

We use a wide range of products to get the job done. We don’t get stuck to one thing. There’s dozens of great brands out there and we pick and choose which ones we like most from each one. You can read more on our paint correction FAQ page.

Is it possible to burn through the clear coat?

Yes! It is very possible to get overly aggressive with the polishing process and burn a spot through the clear coat. This is why we take paint measurements before we get started to see if there’s enough clear coat to work with. On top of that, it takes an extra amount of bliss to simply burn through paint. That’s not what we do around here.

Is paint correction better than a wax?

This is a common misconception. A wax hides minor imperfections in the paint for as long as the wax holds up. Paint correction is the process of permanently removing swirls and scratches from your paintwork. Applying a wax will still shine the vehicle. Just no where near as much as paint correction.

Do you offer ceramic coatings?

Yes, we sure do (at an additional cost)! To make things simple, we only offer a 9-year ceramic coating for all vehicles. This is the best form of protection for your paint. Read our ceramic coating FAQs.
